It's a sad fact that we have to consider criminal intent.  Hopefully it's an element of Elitis that you'll never need to explore, but it's only sensible to be prepared. All Elitis Products are built secure using profiles which are a full 70mm (which also pays benefit in insulation). Our windows are internally beaded with 28mm double glazed units in welded frames, so they can't simply be levered away as is the case for external beads.  All our hardware is high security, with design features like anti-lift hinges, anti-jemmy bolts and so on.

So Elitis is extremely secure as standard.  But there's an even stronger specification available to you: Secured by Design Accreditation.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) works with the British Standards Institute as the UK’s National Standards Body and others to ensure that there are a range of security standards in place which address crime risk in domestic, commercial and other environments.  Elitis windows and doors have been tested to and are Secured by Design approved. They have been through the rigorous security tests required to be approved including British Standards BS7950 and PAS 24.

The Secured by Design Standard specifies an even higher standard of security and is ideal for vulnerable areas like dark doorways or windows.  The Secured by Design certification is available on our products for just a few pounds more - after all, nearly all of the ultimate standard is already designed in!  We were the first manufacturer in Staffordshire to attain this standard.
